Antique Medical Book. System Of Surgery By Gross Vol 1&2. 1872 - $126 - (Belleville, KS)
These are Volumes I & II of Gross's "A System of Surgery; Pathological, Diagnostic, Therapeutic and Operative". Samuel D. Gross was Professor of Surgery in the Jefferson Medical College of Philadelphia and a famous civil war author/surgeon. The cover has much aging wear as pictured. Both volumes with pages & illustrations inside are very excellent shape. Binding is loose on volume II as shown in picture. These are from the personal office library of Dr. L.L. Ames of Shelton, Nebraska (has his name plate inside both covers of volume). Lots of illustrations (1400) Volume I has 1098 pages and Volume II has 1170 pages.
