Slingerland Tom Pair 16x16 and 20x18 - $800 - (Mountain View, AR)
Here's your chance to get a pair of larger Slingerland toms for your kit!. The 16x16 (Serial 577519) is easily dated to 1985 as it has the larger silver ring around the badge (The only year they did that). The larger and VERY rare 20x18 (Serial 454579) is mid to late 1970's given the serial number range for that style badge. Regardless, they are both constructed the same way as they're both "Niles" era.You can hear a good example of these two toms in the song "Ma Ranatha" by Stukenberg (https://open.spotify.com/track/7tlEK3e2lbmA8VmlbBO94c?si=hP0wWmH3SqycvhQ5ePa29g). The 16 inch is pretty standard and extremely versatile, the 20 inch is on a whole other level and sounds massive. I own a recording studio and have been doing this for over 15 years and recorded a lot of drums. I've only seen a hand full of toms this big, and I've never seen another Slingerland this size. The low end is truly impressive and really hits you in the gut. I never got around to it, but I considered getting a pair of rim spurs so I could use it as a kick drum as well. The only reason I'm selling these is because I don't record a whole lot of drums anymore. A few years ago, these were getting used a lot, but now they're both just sitting in a corner waiting to be used. Both are in excellent shape with no issues. I lost some legs in a move, so right now there's 4 of them on the 20 inch tom. The 16 is a bit easier to find, but the last time I saw a 20x18 go up for sale it went for over $500. Here's a chance to get a good deal on two larger sizes that have not been abused. I have shipping at $100, but I had to ship these a few years ago during a move (ran out of room in the truck) and it was closer to $200, so please keep that in mind. They're big and heavy!
