FULPER POTTERY, AQUA TEAL FLAMBE' BOWL, PLANTER, GREAT GLAZE, EARLY MARK~~~ - $395 - (Tilton, NH)

For auction is a wonderful Art and Crafts styled bowl made by The Fulper Pottery Company of Flemington, NJ. The bowl is done in one of Fulper Pottery's most beautiful glaze combinations known as "Flambe' ". The bow; has some size to it as it stands 2 1/2" tall and is 8 1/4" in diameter. This bowl displays a nice round shape with a deep well. It has an outstanding teal blue/green flambe' glaze. The main glaze color is a wonderful rich deep blue teal green glaze. It is further enhanced with wonderful glaze runs that drip down from the top lip into the bowl and on the outside of the bowl.This bowl or planter is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The bowl is marked on the underside bottom with Fulper's earliest ink stamp "Fulper" inside a rectangle signature mark. This was Fulper's earliest period and was know as the Vasekraft Years. This mark was used from 1909-1916. This form is known as shape number 409M in the Fulper Pottery Catalog and is simply described as a "bowl medium diameter". It shows it was available in 2 sizes, a 6 1/4" and a 8" version. This is the smaller of the 2.This is an excellent example of this form and glaze from Fulper. I'm quite sure the buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. This would look Great on that Stickley, Mission, Arts and Crafts style bookcase.
