Fabulous Madeira vintage or antique linen stag or deer tablecloth with 11 matching napkins. Probably unused. Most beautiful antique, rich cream colored Irish linen of the highest quality that is expertly hand embroidered with taupe threads. This tablecloth features six large deer medallions in the center of the tablecloth. The antlers of each deer that are completed with padded satin stitches extend into the center of the cloth. The center medallions are surrounded with fabulous flowers completed with padded satin stitch and beautiful Richelieu cut-work. The border and corners are elaborately hand embroidered with additional flowers complete with cut-work. The edges of this tablecloth are completed with perfectly executed hand stitched scallops. The tablecloth measures approximately 98 inches by 60 inches. The matching napkins are as beautifully impressive as the tablecloth. Each napkin has a large, elaborately embroidered deer in one corner. The edges of the napkins are expertly scalloped. The napkins measure 20 inches by 19 inches. All have been gently hand soaked, laid flat to dry, and expertly pressed. This is a most impressive set; it has a beautiful hand and drape, and it displays beautifully on the table. Slide 10 shows spots along one edge of this tablecloth. These could be flaws in the linen as well as a spot from long storage. This tablecloth has three spots like the one pictured, and these are all along the scalloped edge of the cloth. Weight without packing is 3.5 pounds.
