Francis Crick (1916-2004) was the co-winner of the 1962 Nobel Prize for Physiology and Medicine for the discovery of the structure of DNA.VIRTUALLY UNOBTAINABLE AUTOGRAPH MANUSCRIPT SIGNED BY FRANCIS CRICK FOUR YEARS AFTER HE WON THE NOBEL PRIZE FOR THE DISCOVERY OF THE STRUCTURE OF DNAVirtually unobtainable autograph manuscript signed by, “Fr. Crick,” recording the daily entry for July 31, 1966 and consisting of 15 lines and nearly 100 words. The manuscript was found in Crick’s nautical logbook used on board his Bertram powerboat named the Eye of Heaven in 1966, four years after he won the Nobel Prize. The manuscript is two pages on a single leaf, measures 8” by 6”, and in overall fine condition.THE MANUSCRIPT COMES FROM THE WELL-KNOWN FRANCIS CRICK ESTATE SALE AT HERITAGE AUCTIONS IN 2013, WHICH SOLD CRICK’S NOBEL PRIZE FOR $2.3 MILLIONThe manuscript comes from the well-known Francis Crick estate sale at Heritage Auctions in April 2013, which sold Crick’s Nobel Prize for $2.3 million. The manuscript has been authenticated by and is accompanied with documentation from Heritage.
