I lived in a riparian area for a 6 month period and thought that I would try bird photography, so basically the use that this has gotten is me drinking a beer, sitting in a lawn chair with a shutter remote. It is in near-pristine condition, I was not humping it around in the dirt. That said, bird photography, well GOOD bird photography, is a skill I could never master. I lack the patience. And every time I look in my photo gear box I see the MagMod and it mocks me. A new year means a clean out is in order. It does an amazing job shooting a focused high intensity flash and attached flawlessly (and stayed attached) to my Canon 430EXII and Yongnuo 600. If you are a bird/animal photographer it will lift you up to the next level with a little practice aiming it correctly.
