Welcome to ANTIQUES & MOORE! This listing is for a pair of lovely Sterling Silver low bowls made by the Tuttle Silversmiths, c. 1953. These bowls have a beautifully fluted border with scalloped rim. Marked with the Tuttle trademark stamp and "Sterling, 6, Exemplar, Paul de Lamerie, London, 1712" with the presidential date code for the first year of the administration of Dwight D. Eisenhauer (1953-1961) which would make the bowls date to 1953. The Tuttle Silversmiths started business in Boston MA in 1890 and is now a division of Wallace. Tuttle began using the presidential date codes at the beginning of the Calvin Coolidge administration and continued through the Clinton administration and are possibly still using this system today.Measures 5/8" high and 5 1/4" in diameter. Weighs 105 grams. These nice silver bowls are very good Estate condition although they do have minor surface scratches and faint dings on the interior from normal wear.
