The rigid cartridge is ideal for extended use of the diatom filter. Use with or without diatom powder. Using diatom powder is recommended to extend the life of the cartridge. This setup requires less powder, and the replacement cartridges are less expensive than the OEM filter bags. Shipping is free in the continental USA.
