Toledo Scale Company Toledo, Ohio USA The story behind this scale is the same as my listing for apothecary weights, as they were found in the same part of my dad's pharmacy: Both my father and my grandfather were pharmacists. In the 1960s, my father bought the local pharmacy/apothecary from his father, who had purchased it in the 1930s. This scale was found in a storage area of that building when my dad bought it. I am unsure what was weighed with this, possibly candy or tobacco or medicine. It measures a maximum of 2 pounds. A unique & interesting item for collectors! Item Description & Condition: This VERY solid extremely HEAVY metal scale (thus the shipping charges) is white with a silver bowl/dish, which is removable. The bubble level and main scale seem to work fine. The bowl has dents in it. Some chips in the paint. Screw missing on label plate, but would be easy to replace. The string on the left of the measuring arm is broken (you can see it dangling in the photo). Probably would be easy to fix. There are numbers and words in various locations on the scale.
