Ratings are conservative for continuous duty. Units are tested for breakdown at twice maximum working voltage plus 1000 volts and surge tested at 250% normal voltage. All items are vacuum impregnated and sealed with special insulating compounds. The conservative design and manufacturing procedure of these units make them suitable for virtually all types of commercial equipment as well as ideally suited for amateur and public address service. Both this and the 6.3 Volt 10 Amp transformer I'm selling now were removed from an FAA VHF radio transmitter. I bought it surplus from the GSA many years ago. This one supplied 2.5 VAC at 10 Amps to heat a pair of 866-A mercury vapor rectifiers. Its 2.5 volt secondary is insulated for 2500 volts working voltage and was factory tested to 6000 Volts AC. It will run off of 115 or 230 VAC. It is 4½ inches high and about 3½ inches in diameter. It's still in excellent electrical and mechanical condition. Both the 6.3 Volt 10 Amp and the 2.5 Volt 10 Amp transformers will ship in the same Medium Flat Rate box to save you shipping on the pair.
