Antique German Kestner 148 Doll, Original Mohair Hair, Hat, Cape, EXCELLENT - $350 - (Batavia, NY)

This is a beautiful antique Kestner doll that belonged to my great aunt in the last decade of the 19th century. She was appraised in the 80s for $400. This doll is in excellent condition, one of her hands has come loose from the body so some sawdust has come out. It is still attached, but the kid needs to be sewn back around it (or glued). You can see where the hand is loose in one of the pictures of her without her clothes. Everything original on this doll. No repairs. Eyes open/close, teeth are intact, she needs some cleaning.She has a kid body. Head and shoulders and hands are bisque. From Germany. Hair is mohair and is very fragile. The cape and hat are original and need some cleaning. I do not know about the dress. It fits her and was on her when she came to me but it obviously doesn't "go" with the hat and cape. She also has on white under-bloomers that fit her perfectly, so I am assuming these are original. The lace on the dress matches the lace on the bloomers so they are probably a match. 17" in length.
