Take a look at this blue-eyed beauty -- a very early doll in a desirable mold number. She is even in her antique clothing with underwear. This is a beautifully dressed antique doll, 21" tall, made by the German firm of Heinrich Handwerck. Her head is deeply incised:11 1/299DEP Head and China Painting: Her china painting is extremely well done, with the early style typical pale wash allover and lightly rosy cheeks. She has inset porcelain teeth and her early mold features multistroke brows over flat bisque. She has finely painted upper and lower lashes, with a full cupid's bow mouth. Her beautiful cornflower blue glass eyes still sleep well and she has huge rounded eyecuts. Wig: Her antique human hair wig has curls still all around and is very full.Body: Her fully jointed composition body has its original pale surface.Clothing: Her clothing is incredible--beautiful styling and in remarkable condition for being over 120 years old! It is a pale robin's egg blue dress with attached silk ribbons as trim on very full cartridge-pleated skirt, with trimmed leg o'mutton sleeves, waistband, bretelles, and collar. All the trim has been attached with silk thread. (NOTE: the dress looks greener in the pix than it actually is. It is a definite greyed blue fabric .See pics of dress by itself.) Gathered ribbon flounce of trim at the back waist closure. Bodice is fully lined with muslin, back closure is with early hooks and eyes. Full slip with flannel skirt trimmed with featherstitching. Petticoat of fine quality cotton with flounced ruffle at bottom, set off by applied embroidered trim and beautiful fine lace at edge. All clothing is in great condition and guaranteed to be antique.
