Antique Folding Dagger 18th Century Indo-Persian Bichwa Mahrattas Curved Knife - $550 - (Dresden, ME)

This outstanding Bichuwa Dagger was carried by the Mahrattas, a Hindu warrior group that dominated the Indian sub-continent in the 18th century. The unusual dagger has a folding blade that I was used as a push dagger in its’ folded position. When fully opened, the dagger measures 10.75” (27cm), with a curved 6” blade. This is a very finely constructed example, with heavy iron “skull cracker” (ouch) at the end of the handle. The blade is well formed, double sided, and still sharp to the touch. Its’ condition is excellent antique.
