Each buyer receives 6 beads. Women members of the tribe wore these lower quality false chevrons. These false chevron beads were made to imitate the Venetian chevron beads that the Native Americans desired. Circa 1800's. Venetian trade beads were traded by the Hudson's Bay Company to the tribes of the Great Lakes region, primarily the Huron Indians. Layered glass chevron beads of various colors were very popular among the tribes and fur traders. Originating from Venice Italy (Venetians). Here is a very nice collection of false chevron trade beads. The surfaces show a very nice patina with signs of age. Each bead is unique and different.
