(1993) THE ALPHABET ABECEDARIUM - some notes on letters, by Richard A Firmage, hard cover book with unclipped dust jacked, Godine, Boston, 1993, stated first edition, letter line starts with "a", very nice copy, measures about 9.25 x 6.25", contains 307 pages, plus tail note on typography not numbered, extensive index. Notable for giving the history of each of the 26 letters in the alphabet along with extensive visual material about each letter and the alphabet as a whole. Has a foreword and intro by the author - an award winning writer and book designer. Highly readable and a must for any collector in the field of typography. A very nice copy, clean, tight bright no marks. Has some very light discoloration on the end papers front and back. And some slight discoloration to the cream colored part of dust jacket - ow very nice indeed. Good typography reference. DJ looks good in Broadart cello protector. This is a final sale.
