An original Leitz New York filter adapter that allows the user to put modern E39 size Leica filters and lens hoods on older A36 sized lenses, such as the collapsible Elmar and others. Most early screw mount lenses use an A36 style lens front that requires filters and lens hoods with a clamping screw. Most newer "M" style bayonet style lenses have 39mm threads for screw-in filters and lens hoods. This adapter will allow the user to share newer E39 accessories on older A36 lenses. Also a great item for the Leica Collector. Showing some light wear on the inside, but it works perfectly.
