Pre Columbian, West Mexican, Jalisco, Late Formative 300 BC-200 AD. Extremely rare 2000 year old Jalisco "slab" figure with animal. 72 grams, 4 1/2 inches in height, 1 7/8 inches in width, 2 inches maximum depth. No repairs, or major cracks, expected weathering, deposits with some original pigment. The photos were taken by the seller, utilizing a Canon digital camera and an AmScope 3.5 x - 180 x Trinocular Stereo Microscope with Barlow lenses, a USB 2.0, 3 MP Microscope digital camera and an LED lighting. Photos 1 thru 8 were shot with the Canon camera, they depict subject artifact. Photos 9 thru 11 were shot with the AmScope, they depict ancient pigment and mineral deposits. Knowledgeable Pre Columbian collectors will know this is a rare very early artifact from West Mexico. From my collection, there is no chance this piece is a replica.
