Martha Chase character doll maybe Little Lord Fauntleroy - $550 - (Sault Ste. Marie, ON)
Its Time to treat yourself!! From my own estate I would like to let this doll go...another generation will look at him as a "rag doll" We have no control of what will become of him. The owner before me said he was George Washington as a boy. Now back then in the 70's there was not as much research shared as there is today. I have been reading and asking questions and know that many of the dolls were dressed individually and not en mass. Therefore it easily could have been a young George costume. HOWEVER I think he is more like a Little Lord Fauntleroy. Of which there is one in a painting . Search: Deborah Deichler Little Lord Fauntleroy If you are unable to see it please message and I will send you the website of where to find it online. Also I have seen Martha Chase Character dolls listed dressed in various costumes with the same lace trim. He has sat on a shelf all these years here and dust will at some point deteriorate him, so I would like him enjoyed somewhere else:). Mind you, his chapeau has helped preserve his head, and painting. He has light crazing of the head, but no major peeling. I think the visible baseball seams on the head under his layers is so interesting. His satin body is all intact, no tears. and approx 24 inches tall! I have over 25 photos of all angles so PLEASE ask for more. Any comments, or questions are welcome and if he does have a twin somewhere out there, I'd love to hear!!! :: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price.
