G.A.R Grand Army of the Republic Shield Sign Civil War Veterans Post 45 Miami, OH Great shape for an 1860's shield plaque/sign. Has the Civil War cavalry swords on the shield face. Not sure if this came from the building or was a highway/road marker of some kind? I did some digging and the only J.Ingersoll (Name on Sign) that I could find was a Joseph Ingersoll from Miami, Ohio (no longer exists) that was in Hamilton County. PVT Joseph H. Ingersoll (1836- 1862), 11th OH Light Art., KIA at Iuka, MS, on 19 Sept. 1862. Buried in Corinth National Cemetery. G.A.R. POST INFO: Chart'd 8 Dec. 1888 Measures Approx: 16" x 14" Weighs Approx: 11lbs. No clue on price, make an offer. Thanks for looking!
