Antique 1916 Roseville Imperial 9" Pottery Hanging Planter Bowl Maple Leaf - $60 - (Monterey, CA)
Hello! And welcome to our eBay store! Listed here today for your viewing and purchase is this very old pottery hanging planter. From an estate of a very old woman. Her granddaughter said she remembers seeing it her entire life and she thought it was at least 100 years old. Is it? I do not know as I'm not familiar with this line of collecting. It has a smooth finish, one that feels good to my hand as I pass it over the side of the planter. The inside of the planter feels the same way. I do not see any manufacturer markings of any kind. I had a kind eBayer write me to say that she thinks it is Roseville with the pattern being described as Imperial. It has some kind of a leaf design, repeating itself 3 times around the perimeter of the planter. It measures approximately 9" across by nearly 5" tall. There are 3 hanging holes. I note one tiny pottery flake next to one of the leaves. There are what look to be cracks on the inside of the planter, but I assure you they are NOT cracks. These are glazed over too. The planter weighs 3 lb. 1.5 ounces on my postal scale. It has nice earth-tone coloring consisting of forest green and tan.
