Maple Rocking Doll Cradle w Decals Vintage 1950's Whitney Bros. Co. Marlboro NH - $62 - (Fairfield, PA)
This is a lovely sturdy WHITNEY BROS. CO. MAPLE WOOD ROCKING DOLL CRADLE, 1950's vintage with a TEDDY BEAR DECAL on one end. Dimensions are listed above. It is big enough to accommodate a reborn baby doll, or a whole crowd of smaller dolls and stuffed animals. It comes apart for shipping, put together with slotted screws. It comes with an old foam pallet mattress which is covered in yellow checked cotton. This covers the 4 dowels which form the bottom of the cradle. I just have to say that this Whitney Bros. factory was located at the foot of my grandparents' hill in Marlboro, NH, and my Uncle Walter had a job there as a young man, as did numerous other neighbors. But I found this cradle at a sale in south central PA... and I was pretty excited to see it!
