These are not calibrated! The CD V-781 Aerial Survey Meter Model No. 1 was originally designed to be utilized in a small plane to overfly, detect and measure fallout on the ground below. It can also be used effectively when stationary on the ground, from a shelter or while surveying from a moving vehicle. Utilizes three Geiger-Mueller (G-M) tubes, each responding simultaneously to a decade portion of the total 0 - 10 R/hr radiation level range of the instrument. Measures diffused gamma radiation in the 70 kev to 1.2 Mev spectrum. Metering unit consists of three indicating meters with associated indicator lamps, an audio tone generating circuit and headphones. The meter ranges are 0 - 0.1 R/hr, 0 - 1.0 R/hr and 0 - 10 R/hr.Operates on 12 volt DC or with nine D-Cell batteries for approximately 100 hours.
