Imperial, Hazel Carnival Glass Windmill Ashtray Pipe Cigar Matchbox About 1950s - $25 - (Gold Beach, OR)

One thing I remember, in particular, about this Ashtray is that it was either Imperial or an Hazel Atlas product.It has wide rests for Cigars and Pipes, instead of the close net rest for Ciggaretts. It laso has a slanted rest for a Match Box. The detail is very good and the iridization excellent. There is an internal manufacturing fracture in the glass; these are caused during the cooling process. When it goes into a stage for cooling, and is not the right temperature, fractures that look like cracks occur. They can not be felt with a fingernail; the glass exteriors are almost always smooth.
