Cocktails and Conversations: Our Reproductive Freedoms When reproductive rights are attacked at the federal level, it affects Rhode Island as well. Results of this are seen in family planning, the availability of birth control, the kind of birth control people are choosing and what kind of preventative care/ screenings residents have access to. The Women’s Fund of Rhode Island is hosting a “Cocktails and Conversations” event that highlights these issues on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 from 6:00-8:00pm at Brown University Medical School. Learn about efforts to codify Roe v. Wade in Rhode Island, erase outdated language in our state laws and make access to birth control easier to access. The evening includes a panel discussion with local experts and activists, including Hilary Levey Friedman, President of the Rhode Island chapter of the National Organization of Women (RI NOW).
