Cosmetic Condition The unit is in fairly good condition.It has scratches, scuff marks, and is a bit dirty from use, but has no damage significant enough to affect function. The viewing glass has no damage. The rear connections are in good shape. The unit includes a heating block. Specifications Temp. II, Ph.Helv.II regulations Testing We tested the apparatus by plugging it in and powering it on. The device initializes just fine, but does display a warning that the calibration interval has been exceeded. It is likely this unit needs calibration before use to ensure accuracy. We tested the heating element by raising the set point to its maximum at 400°C and starting the program. The temperature began to rise and then (according to the display) hovered at a level approximate 400°C and stayed there until we pressed stop. During heating, we took measurements with an infrared thermometer on the top of the heating element. Our readings ranged from 300°-375°C, but not 400°C. This may be due to the limitation of taking surface temperature measurements, or mean that the unit needs to be properly calibrated. After stopping the program, the fans activated and began to c…
