Beautiful palatial size oriental baluster form floor vase on a wood stand. The vase features outstanding Cameo-style decorations, very difficult to achieve, with two layers, a blue ceramic base, and a brown enamel-like lacquered layer. It is decorated in underglazed blue and white flowers . It is further overlaid with various tones of brown lacquer, beautifully carved to depict flowers and a flaming dragon on the front side. Excellent craftsmanship with outstanding details. The vase has some lacquer losses, but they do not distract. Some of the chips are on the front, but mostly on the back, please preview pictures carefully. Apparently the top has been cut off ( it would have had a flared out top). The vase measures an impressive 53" including the stand, and it is 16" wide. The stand measures 7". Very heavy. Free local pick-up in Chicago. Free delivery in Chicago and nearby suburbs.
