Antique Silver Vinaigrette or Pomander, Thomas Shaw, Birmingham, 1836 - $225 - (Mankato, MN)

Antique silver vinaigrette or pomander. If I'm reading the hallmarks correctly, this was made by Thomas Shaw of Birmingham, England, in 1836. The cover has been engraved with the initials "A.M." It's about 1 3/16" wide, 7/8" deep (top to bottom, looking from the top) and 7/16" thick when closed. There is a slight indent in the lid to the left of the monogram. This item is old and has been used, so it shows the usual wear and surface scratches one would expect from an object of this age. Please see all photos, and if you have questions, feel free to contact me.
