Brown Glazed Pottery Crock Canning Jar NO handle 9" Farmhouse Barn Primitive - $20 - (Campbell, TX)

Vintage Brown Glazed Crock/Stoneware with no handle crock.  Canning jar. Information given to me by a knowledge eBayer: This Albany slip glazed canning jar did not require a ceramic lid; a tin lid was placed over the inner rim and hot wax poured around it to seal it, commonly referred to as a wax sealer. The chip marks around the top would be from prying off the tin lid. When Mason began to economically produce a glass jar around 1915 these items slowly migrated to basements, sheds and bards.  Measurements: 9" tall; 7" at base; 4.25" rim to rim; and 2.25" mouth. Condition: Very nice for age. This is a VERY sturdy and heavy crock. There are a few minor chips, but no major cracks. No holes. GREAT addition for your farmhouse or primitive decor or for any crock collector. Please let me know if you have any questions.
