Antique 19th c. French Ormolu Bronze Mantle Clock with Open Escapement - $1,495 - (Walnut Ridge, AR)
Fresh from a Fabulous Arkansas estate is this large and impressive Antique French clock that has descended in one family! The clock is beautifully made in bronze - very heavy and with original patina--and nearly 20" tall and 10" wide and 5” deep. The clock has its pendulum and key and what I believe are the original hands on the dial. I believe this clock is Circa 1880. No damage or repairs to case---which is amazing! The Clock has been running and striking but will need adjustment after shipping. Chime, hour, minute hand and key all function---but may need adjustment after shipping. Notice the "open escapement" movement---which is present on expensive 19th century clocks. [I did not take the clock apart and there is likely a name inside but I will leave that to the new owner to discover.] The beveled glass on the front dial has a 'tiny' chip---barely noticeable---but mentioned for accuracy. The clock has its original back door but needs some screws tightened. The case has its original base under the clock and is fastened with four screws. The clock sits squarely with no wiggle. Also, I will remove the top ornate finial for better safety in shipping and will wrap the key and pendulum separately. FOLKS, this is a MOST IMPRESSIVE clock and one that should be treasured. I will BUBBLE WRAP and DOUBLE or TRIPLE BOX for better security in mailing and will INSURE for the total amount. Because this clock weighs over 20 pounds, shipping is expensive but I will REFUND any excessive postage paid.
