WINSTON CHURCHILL COLLECTION - These are from our late 98 year old Uncle's Book Collection. These are all of his Churchill Books that we have located in his Library Room. The 2 Sets are in Clam shell type cases. The Soft cover volumes are in their original case. When our Uncle was in his later years, he loved to make cases for all his 'Special Sets". He tried to match up the Hardcover Set as close as possible. It is not a heavily constructed case, but perhaps is nice for a professional looking display in your Book Area. The hardcover set consists of the Houghton Mifflin Company Book Club Editions...dates of 1948, 1949, 1950, 1950, 1951, & 1953. The jackets show the wear, however still intact. "Their Finest Hour" jacket has been re - enforced. The inside of the books are in nice shape for their age. Pages are lightly & evenly aged, with no writing or bends. The softcover set appears to have that - "Maybe never looked at" appearance to them. Covers also have that "Perhaps not been cracked open" feel to them. Covers glossy & vibrant, 1985 John Keegan. ISBN 0-395-41055X. "The End of the Beginning" is a hardcover with Dust jacket. This is the "Third Printing" of the 1943 Edition. Jacket shows most of the wear. The actual Book is still a rich Red color, inside being evenly aged in that "manila" tone. 322 Pages, no writings or bends. "PAINTING as a Pastime" - Hardcover, Reprinted 1965. Book is aged in that "manila tone" as well. The color plates at the back of the book are still very vibrant. No writings or bends as well. The 2 similar matching hardcover books - "THE INSIDE OF THE CUP", 1913, 513 pages & "Mr CREWE'S CAREER, 1908, 498 pages. Covers show the wear on the spine and edges. Books still hold their brownish red tone with the gold gilt still bright. The Macmillan Company Publishers. Insides of both books still nice for their age. Evenly aged, light dirt on a few pages. Inscription on flyleaf in Mr Crewe's Career. No other writing or bends in both of these, upon …
