Staten Island New York-1859 Lithograph-Quarantine Grounds - $16 - (Norwood, MA)

About 7 x 18 , with 4 vertical folds as issued ( came from book titled Valatine's Manual 1859 ) , sky has a light tan tint , the stains that can be seen on front are small and light . The buildings in this section of Staten Island were used to house and care for people who had a disease. The people from the island did not care to have this type of facility so close , so in 1858 they burnt most of the buildings in protest. Condition is good. This lithograph will be folded once when mailed .
