This auction is for a massive and incredibly detailed map from the area around HUNTSVILLE, Ontario. Halifax urban area also incuded. H This map was produced by the Federal Government of Canada’s “Surveys and Mappings Branch” of the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources, (based on military surveys) and the level of detail is completely fantastic! It is on a scale of 1:250,000 and is so detailed that individual houses and buildings are shown, as well as all the natural features such as streams, swamps, hills and fields. They are considered to be the most accurate and detailed surveys of our country available! This particular map is: * 74 x 57 cm. “HUNTSVILLE, ONTARIO,” Reference Number is 31E.This map would be interesting for anyone who was involved in hiking, canoeing, geo-cashing, rock climbing, and the outdoors life in "Cottage Country" of Ontario!Also, anyone who was also interested in surveying and the art of map making. You used to be able to order these maps through the mail from the Federal Government back in the 1970s for a small fee. They no longer provide this service, and thus those who want to go exploring in the Canadian wilderness need to pick up old maps on Ebay or elsewhere, such as these! The map is in completely pristine condition, with no writing on it, and no rips or tears, no staining or soiling. (Fold marks, of course) The map is printed on high quality paper, in full multi-colour, and the back of the map also has an incredibly detailed “Legend” (see scans). The top bidder should add $2.50 postage within Canada, or $6.90 for mailing to the USA. (I have a few other maps up now too, so chick them out & combine cheaper postage on multiple lots!)
