Vintage MUNISING Solid Maple Wood Salad Footed BOWL with Hand Painted White (Magnolia?) Flowers. This is a #508 individual bowl made for a large individual side salad bowl Condition: no cracks or chips, just signs of normal use. A couple of spots on rim where a part of the painted leaf is missing, see photo Hand wash only Measurements: Slightly out of round rim to rim 8 1/2 inches diameter one way and 9 inches diameter the opposite way Munising bowls are from Munising, MI which is nestled on the South Bay of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Workers at Munising Woodenware Company, in business from 1911 to 1955, machine-lathed each vessel out of hardwood, usually maple, from the forests nearby.
