A very rare antique up for grabs here, I believe even more so than the other unusual Aitchison folding aluminum feild glasses I currently have listed. Beautiful early folding, collapsible brass Aitchison field / opera glasses c.1870. I've never seen another pair like these offered anywhere ever, nor an antique ad for these unusual old field/opera glasses. The original hide case looks to be very interesting too! It took me many years to find and acquire this set. ( yes set, I have another pair with a very different and complexly design pair of folding aluminum field / opera glasses made by the same Aitchison Co. that produced these gems ).
