Gibson RB-250 Mastertone 5-String Banjo 1980 w/ OHSC - $1,575 - (Bristol, TN)

This 1980 Gibson RB-250 Mastertone Banjo is in very good condition. The head shows some honest wear, but overall, the banjo is very clean. There are no large dings, dents, or scratches on the resonator or neck and the nickel hardware looks very good overall. The banjo looks to be in all original condition with the exception of 2 Keith tuners that have been installed on the banjo as well as a non-original truss rod cover. The clamshell tailpiece is Gibson engraved as is the armrest and original tuning keys that remain. There is a railroad spike installed at the 7th fret. This banjo plays and sounds excellent! It gives a clear, strong projection and plenty of volume without being shrill. The neck is straight, the action is low and comfortable, and the frets still have plenty of life left.
