So that the problem can be resolved. thenextitemwehaveontheblockis!!!!!!!! Trader-BOB's MUSIC offers a Dixie Brand Banjo Mandolin It states Mjg, by B&J New York. My research shows, that B & J or Buegeleisen and Jacobson were distributors, not manufacturers. So the actual majer is unknown. Could by Stromberg-Voisenet. 16 tension hooks, 9-7/8" diameter head. 23-1/4" overall length, 13-7/8" scale length. The neck has a slight back bow to it by the eye. Looks lke maple construction, with a thick mahogany veneer on the peghead. The 17 fret fretboard looks like mahogany also. Some wear on the frteboard, and fret wires. The tuners all look original, & function correctly. The spindle shafts are all straight. The only thing missing is the bridge. Needs a new goatskin head. The birdeye maple body has a 1/8" steel tone ring at the top, see pix #10. Of the 16 tension hooks, one hook & nut is missing. The is some rust, and corrosion on the hardware. The neck angle needs adjusting, an operation taken care of when the neck is off, for reheading. Not much of a restore, the finish is great, will polish up nicely.
