ANTIQUE Books "The New Curative Treatment of Disease" by M. Platen (VOLUMES I & II). Handbooks of hygienic rules of life, health culture, and the cure of ailments without the aid of drugs. An invaluable household and family guide for the healthy and the ailing. Includes many B&W illustrations in the text & 17 color plates (anatomy & botany) between both books. The book indicates eight super-imposed anatomical plates, but the only thing I can find is a listing in the front & back pages (see photo example) in Volume I. These may have been removed. Books published Bong & Co, London, Alexander Duncker (H. Von Carnap) New York. AUCTION FOR BOTH VOLUMES. Volume I covers to page 744, and Volume II includes pages from 748 to 1579. There are no pages 745-747, and it doesn't look like pages are missing, so wonder if this was an anatomy model in the front of Volume II (because of the legend). I can't find an age in the book, but guessing from the color plates, I would estimate late 1800's to early 1900's. BOOKS HAVE SOME AGE WEAR, BUT NOT TERRIBLE CONSIDERING THE AGE. There are small page tears & wear (or bends, where people book-marked something), covers have some age wear & tear (especially on the spine), the spines aren't broken, but both have some cracks. Volume one has a few loose preface pages that are loose. GREAT ANTIQUE HOMEOPATHIC BOOKS FOR YOUR COLLECTION, AND IT'S A GEM TO FIND BOTH. I've included a bunch of photos to help you.
