Remo Original All Chrome 14" Roto Tom Here is a original all chrome Remo 14" Roto Tom. The newer Roto Toms are mounted on an aluminum frame, but the original Remo Roto Toms were made of all chrome, like this one. The Roto Tom is constructed with a rapid-tuning system, allowing for instant tuning in a range of more than one octave. The Roto Tom does not have a traditional drum shell. Instead, the drumhead and counterhoop are mounted on a chrome frame (spoke) through which the tension rods are attached to a bottom frame which is mounted on a threaded center bolt. Rotating the frame raises or lowers the tension, thus raising or lowering the pitch of the drum. Their versatility has led to the widespread use of Roto Toms in live situations, recording studios, percussion ensembles and symphonic Concert music. This is an amazing original Remo Roto Tom in excellent condition, with only a few scratches and some rusting on the threaded center bolt, but nothing to hinder it from its amazing and cool performance.
