This is a VERY NICE Fox Renard Model 220 professional bassoon. Fox is the best American maker of bassoons and oboes and the 220 is their flagship model for the Renard line. Foxs manufacturing is excellent. Intonation is very good, action feels good, and these bassoons sound good enough to play in a youth civic or college orchestra. This particular instrument is in very good condition. It has the high D key as well as the optional high E key. There are no cracks, repaired or otherwise. There is minor wear on the keys and tenons (see photos). Pads and action are very good, and this bassoon plays well as is!
