On Jan. eleven at 1 p.m. The Arizona Commission for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing (ACDHH) will hold a press conference in conjunction with Arizona House and Senate to celebrate Arizona becoming the national leader in serving the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Arizona has become the 1st state to install inductive looping in the Arizona State Senate and House chambers, visitor galleries and all committee hearing rooms, as well as the 2nd state in the nation to install hearing loops in both the House and Senate chambers. Additionally, ACDHH has partnered with the Arizona House and Senate to coordinate captioning requests for Deaf and Hard of Hearing legislators with Relay Conference Captioning (RCC) through Arizona Relay Service. These milestones will allow the more than 1.1 million Arizonans who are living with hearing loss to better participate in state-level government processes.
