ITEM DESCRIPTION 14kt Yellow Gold Curb Chain & Cultured Pearl and Coral Necklace, 20" 8.34 Grams 8TEN1944 SKU: 5344273927 Late 1900's 14kt Gold and Baroque Pearl and Bamboo Coral 20" necklace. This is marked 14kt and tested. It is post mid-century and made up of sections of 14kt gold curb chain that is appx. 1.5mm thick and slightly over 1" between beaded sections of a center 6mm bamboo coral bead and an approximately 4.5 baroque pearl with white orient with a nice shimmer in the light. There are 12 beaded sections in the necklace. The maker is not signed. The total weight is 8.34 grams. It looks new and would make a great gift. Bamboo coral is usually enhanced by dying or heat treatment and is a red/orange color close to brick red - this does have an orange hue to the red. The pearls are baroque and not all the same exact size - some have a ridge in it or something that makes it not be perfectly round which is the nature of a baroque pearl. They are likely a farmed/cultured pearl - I do believe they are real and not plastic or glass, etc.. They have the correct look and feel but the way they are wrapped with gold at the end to hold them in place.
