This is a real work of artThis portrait was painted by an extraordinary painter.It is painted on a curved background which could be papier macheor mother of pearl. The subject is a lovely woman with a long braid on one side. The realistic look of calm on the subjects' face impliesquietness. She looks to be of the upper classes. She is wearing fur on her hat and fur around her shoulders. Under light, parts of the paintingglow as if of mother of pearl, but under a loop it looks more like foil: likebasse taille. The painting is unsigned but it is certainly painted in theFedoskino way......realistic. It has a German silver frame and a hook catch. The shiniest parts are the red of the hat and the gorgeous gold of her garment. It is finished with thick clear glaze. The curve makes the painting 3 dimensional.
