Ao-Kutani Rinka Sansui Plate Taisho – Showa, 1920 - 1950 It measures 9 3/4" diameter and 1 1/4" in height Kutani porcelain plate, with a lobed rim (rinka), green decoration (Ao-Kutani), hand painted in overglaze colors of green, blue, yellow and aubergine, and red & black, a scenary (sansui) decoration, marked to base, kaku-fuku, a kanji “fuku” in square painted in yellow. Very good original condition with some slight partial surface wear on the glaze near the ring in the center caused by stacking two plates No chips or cracks The plate gives a good sharp ring when it’s tapped by finger-tip Note: Some minor kiln flaws such as dust-like sand trapped on or in the glaze, somewhat irregular asymmetrical forms & shapes, wobbliness, brown pimple like burn spots- these are typical characters of antique Japanese porcelain.
