25 unique and unpublished photos of WASP - Women Airforce Service Pilots - $399 - (Memphis, TN)
Super rare, one-of-a-kind, unique and never published photos of life at Avenger Field in Texas where the WASP trained as pilots during WWII. These are informal pictures showing both the casual and serious aspects of their lives. I can only show 12 (of the 25) of these photos in this auction, but I have faithfully chosen a broad sample that includes some with imperfections, soft focus, etc., as well as some truly outstanding ones. These 12 are typical of the collection. The photos are full-frame images from the original 2.25 x 4 inch negatives and are 7" x 4 5/8th inches printed professionally on high-grade photo paper. There were originally no prints made, but the family discovered these negatives after the WASP died, and they were given to me.The names of WASP pictured were unknown to the family, especially seeing only the negatives, and are not provided. Sold only as a complete collection of 25. No international sales, and no returns possible on this particular item due to the possibility of reproduction and abuse.
