Cotton prints from India were also popular in Britain and America. With their historic background, block print fabrics may be just what you need for your SCA, LARP, Renaissance Faire, Civil War, reenactor, or other reproduction, period costumes. Or use them for period home furnishings. Hand carved wooden blocks were used to stamp a resist onto this fabric. After dying and washing away the resist, the pattern emerged.
