Pair of Patented 1881 Antique School Desk Bench Ornate Cast Iron Legs Thos Kane - $200 - (Blue River, WI)
Beautiful matching set of antique school desk legs. Made by Thos Kane & Co and has patent dates of Feb 1 81 and Jan 18 73 (not positive it is 73, might be 75 or 76) stamped in the metal. It also has "KNOWLEDGE IS POWER" and "IMPROVE THE TIME". The table arm on one leg is broken off about 1/2 way but I think it would still work to attach a tabletop to (see picture 10) and the foot on that same leg is partially broken but could still be screwed down on one side (see picture 12). I am not an expert in collectibles so may not notice something that is important to you. PLEASE ask questions if there are important aspects to this item that I have not specifically mentioned.
