A J Wilkinson Amethyst Pastoral Davenport 12" Oval Platter Made in England Vtg, very light utensil marks, a couple glaze pops, no cracks, breaks, chips, or crazing noted. Measures 12" x 9" oval. The platter depicts an English village with thatched roof cottages, there are children and men with horses at possibly a blacksmith shop. The platter border has an intricate design of berries and greenery and four medallion insets of farming tools and a beehive which gives the platter a very unique look. The design is worked in a pleasing shade of amethyst/deep purple, the color is rich and is also rather different. Great addition to your collection!
