The RVG vase is in fine condition, no signs of chips, cracks or any faults. The vase is 6 inches high, the width is 5 3/4 inches. the base is 2 3/4 inches. The RVG brand and its history may be found in the Leland & Carol Marple book R.S. Prussia: The Art Nouveau Years on page 136. The connection with Reinhold Schlegelmilch and Royal Vienna Germany has been overlooked. " In retrospect, we find the real link between Royal Vienna Germany and Reinhold's firm to have been overlooked. In The Collector's Encyclopedia of R.S. Prussia, Series 3 {Gaston, 1993] a tall, complex handled ewer made from Mold RVG 17 is illustrated [along with other R.S. products] in pictures from the 1992-93 exhibit of Schlegelmilch china at Suhl, East Germany. The items in this display were owned by local townspeople, including descendants of factory workers, so there is little doubt of their origin." The Marple's are probably the most knowledgeable people in the world on R.S. Prussia and its origin.
