Tweak was surrendered to the shelter when his owner became allergic to him. As you can see, Tweak has an eye ulcer which will require application of an antibiotic ointment 2-3 times a day until the ulcer resolves. Tweak has been very nice about having his ointment applied! Tweak''s new owner will need to be comfortable with finishing out his treatment, we are happy to help with suggestions for handling. Tweak is a longhaired guineapig, and as such, needs extra attention to grooming! Tweak is a fairly clean little dude but his new owners will need to pay attention to his daily hairstyling needs (daily brushing is ideal to remove mats and tangles). Owners of longhaired guineas may also desire to trim their hair in order to keep them cleaner. This should be done with caution, particularly if you have never given a guinea a haircut before! If your guinea is a dirty critter, they may also need to be bathed from time to time to remove urine buildup from their long behind fur.
