Antique Gothic Revival Ebony/Black Oak Trestle Console/Library Table w/Griffins - $5,000 - (Sylva, NC)
There are a number of amazing antique Gothic console/library tables in the Renaissance Revival style, but you won't find another one quite as pure, downright Goth as this one! I only wish it was in slightly better condition, but alas there are some age-related cracks and wood separation on the top (please see pics), as well as some degradation to the ebony finish in some areas (please see pics). That said, this table is over 150 years old, as it was made sometime in the mid-1800s. He suggested that this table was possibly made here in the United States as part of the Modern/Reform Gothic Revival period of 1850-1870. He also believes that this is indeed a masterpiece worthy of the $5,000 it would most surely fetch at a Christie's auction.
